Accepted to West Virginia School of Preaching!
Next steps...
After being accepted for the Fall 2023 semester at WVSOP, I have put together Mailing Packets that I sent out to various churches in and around West Virginia to ask for support while I go through the program.
One requirement of this program is that I continually update those congregations/individuals that are providing me support with my progress and academic standing throughout my time there.
The West Virginia School of Preaching offers a tuition-free education. However, as all are well aware, there is no such thing as a free lunch. That is why they require their students to submit a reasonable budget, raise the majority of their funds before enrolling, and then make prudent choices to stay within their budgets.
This is extremely important because full-time students are unable to maintain jobs while they are enrolled at school and, therefore, need assistance to pay for living expenses.
The mission at the West Virginia School of Preaching is to save souls by training men to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:2). Their capable faculty of preachers and teachers carry out this mission by providing two rigorous years of study which develop the student’s comprehensive understanding of God’s Word. In addition to extensive curriculum, students also receive preaching assignments at area congregations, which give them the experience they need to pursue both missionary and located work after graduation. All aspects of the school’s ministry are overseen by the elders of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ.
I plan to use this page as a resource to keep everyone updated on my progress by posting newsletters, small examples of what I have been working on, as well as critiques and grades given by my teachers.

**I do have an updated budget with actual figures. The first copy had some locational averages for rent, utilities, etc. while we looked for a place to live.**
